"The Crucifixion" (1786) m 10x8

The painting is above the main front portal. It’s the biggest painting of the Basilica and it was achieved in 1786 by Pietro Tantin, pupil of the author who died during the execution of the work. It reproduces the dramatic scene of Golgotha.
The central group is composed of Our Lady, St. John and the pious ladies.
This painting ends the pictorial cycle of the Basilica from the end of 1500 to 1787
