Io

Nasco l’1 febbraio 1963... è l’ultimo giorno della merla, il giorno più freddo dell’anno, con circa novanta centimetri di neve; non si potevano aprire gli usci di casa, come racconta la mamma... Forse questo è il motivo per cui odio il freddo e amo il caldo.

Fin da piccolo ho tra le mani l’amica chitarra. Il ricordo più lontano che ho è che, in prima media, mentre i miei compagni di scuola suonavano il flauto, io li accompagnavo con la chitarra.

A quindici anni ho un’esperienza che mi cambia la vita, debutto in teatro con il Gruppo Teatro e Canto Popolare, come attore e musicista... continuo per parecchi anni e alcune centinaia di spettacoli. Un’esperienza che mi ha permesso di approfondire notevolmente lo studio dello strumento e del cantare insieme.

Lasciata l’esperienza teatrale, sperimento diversi generi musicali affinando la tecnica e arricchendo il mio bagaglio di esperienze e, con diverse cover band, mi esibisco in molti palcoscenici d’Italia fino a quando, per gioco, comincio a scrivere canzoni, che tengo nel cassetto per anni, finché mi decido ad andare in studio e registrarle per fissare alcune idee.

Di nascosto, Barbara, moglie, amica e mio alter ego, iscrive una mia canzone ad un concorso di Santa Margherita Ligure. Poco dopo, con una telefonata, Bruno Lauzi m’invita alla finale del Premio Bindi, di cui era direttore artistico. E’ il 2006 e la canzone è “Tita”. Nasce in questo periodo la mia Band, composta da musicisti di grande valore e di grande spessore musicale, con la quale inizio la proposta live delle mie canzoni. La loro sensibilità musicale e il loro apporto personale è di forte peso nell’arrangiamento dei brani.

E’ così che mi decido a partecipare ad altri concorsi. Lo stesso anno a Macerata, mi qualifico al quarto posto del concorso “Canzoni e Colori” con la Canzone “Due Cose”.

Approdo così, nel 2007, alle finali del “Premio Lunezia – Conferimento al valore Musical-letterario delle canzoni italiane”. Nel 2008 mi classifico al secondo posto al Concorso Nazionale “Singin 4 life”.

Sempre nel 2008 inizio la mia collaborazione con la TRJ Records, che mi annovera tra le sue fila e decide di editare e promuovere il mio CD “Viaggio di un artista”, 14 canzoni inedite tutte da scoprire.

Attualmente compongono la Band: Beppe Spalenza, clarinetto e sax; Massimo Pietta, tromba e flicorno; Nicola Anni, basso; Roberto Rampini, batteria; Angelo Tomasoni, pianoforte e tastiere; Marinella Cirimbelli, vocalist.

About me

I was born on 1st february 1963 the last day of “la merla”, the coldest day of the year with about 90 cm . of snow and entrance doors that could not be opened as mother says….That’s probably why I hate the freeze and I love the heat.

Since I was a child I have been handling my friend “ the guitar”. The remotest memory I have is when I was in the first year of the Middle School and while my schoolfriends played the flute I used to accompany them with my guitar.

When I was 15 years old I experienced something that changed my whole life. I made my debut in a theatre with “Gruppo Teatro e Canto Popolare” as an actor and a musician…. Since then I have continued for several years and hundreds of shows. Such an experience has enabled me to improve enormously the knowledge of the instrument together with the singing.

Once I abandoned the theatre experience, I continued to experiment different musical genres, refining the technique and enriching my musical background and with different cover bands I continued to make my performances in several Italian stages . I also began to write songs that I left behind for years till I decided to record them in order to collect my ideas.

In the meantime Barbara, my wife, my friend and my alter-ego, telling me nothing, entered a competition in Santa Margherita Ligure with one of my songs . After a while I received a telephone call from Bruno Lauzi who invited me to the final of “Premio Bindi” where he was the Art Director.

It’s the year 2006 and the song is “Tita”.

My band was born at that time, formed by very talented and skilled musicians, with whom I started to play live concerts. Their musical sensitivity and their personal contribution is of great value to the arrangement of the pieces.

This is how I decided to join in other competitions. In the same year I qualified forth in “Canzoni e Colori” a competition in Macerata with my song “ Due cose”.

I consequently qualified for the final of “Premio Lunezia” in 2007 with the award of best literary value of Italian songs. In 2008 I qualified second in the “Concorso Nazionale - Singing 4 life”.

In 2008 I also began my co-operation with TRJ records that included me among its ranks and decided to produce and publish my CD “Viaggio di un artista” with 14 unedited songs all to be discovered.

At present my band is formed by: Bebbe Spalenza- clarinet and sax, Massimo Pietta - Trumper and flugerlhr, Nicola Anni - bass, Roberto Rampini - drums, Angelo Tomasoni - piano and keyboards, Marinella Cirimbelli - vocalist.
